关于“The dandy warhols”：
The Dandy Warhols是一支容易让人误以为来自英国的美国乐队，这支1994年来自于美国波特兰的4人乐队有着无比动听的旋律。the dandy warhols是当今乐坛中少数这样直白的从地下丝绒和david bowie那个年代汲取养分的乐队, 迷幻的曲风, 还有主唱幽默的念白式的唱腔都非常具有那个年代的特色, 却又不失时代感. 难怪bowie对这支乐队也是赞赏有佳.
在1986年Ian Dury演唱那首著名的“性、毒品和摇滚乐”之前，这三样东西就早已成了描述摇滚乐的陈词滥调。但是，当来自美国波特兰市的The Dandy Warhols出现后，“性、毒品和摇滚乐”却成了描述他们最恰当词汇。但是Warhols并没有成为狗仔队追逐对象，相反，他们的音乐、教养及谈吐却赢得媒体一致好评，很多时候媒体把他们当成一群知识分子，他们更愿意和记者大谈电影《日瓦戈医生》而不是现在好评如潮的摇滚电影《几乎成名》。
The Dandy Warhols从来不避讳展现Lou Reed与Ride对他们音乐的影响，师承The Velvet Underground，却发展出独一无二的自信与冲劲，一组疯狂却沉稳，迷幻却方向明确的杰出乐队。 1992年The Dandy Warhols正式成军於美国奥勒冈州的Portland，成员共有四位：主唱Courtney Taylor、键盘手Zia McCabe、吉它手Peter Holmstrom以及鼓手Eric Hedford，成立不久后他们很快就获独立厂牌TimKerr赏识并签下一纸合约，散发耀眼光芒的他们没有多久又转进主流大厂，虽然没有立即为唱片公司赚进大把钞票，却着乐评的高度评价和另类乐迷之间口耳相传，创造了为数不少的死忠粉丝。之后乐队阵容一度稍有变化，鼓手由现在的Brent DeBoer取代。乐队於2003年发表的第四张专辑Welcome to the Monkey House累积了至高的人气与买气，甚至连摇滚变色龙David Bowie都亲自邀请他们担任个人演唱会的开场乐队。 而乐队第五张全新录音作品Odditorium or Warlords of Mars则是本年度继The Warlocks新作SURGERY之后最让人期待的迷魂夺魄钜作。Odditorium是他们故乡的一栋大厦，在这个地方乐队拥有成员私密的回忆，甚至他们这张全新大碟也在其中的录音室完成，Warlords of Mars这个名字则是取材自Edgar Rice Burroughs的科幻小说。专辑由Bill Kurtis的口述开场白揭幕，接下来的Love is the New Feel Awful则直接带领听众进入他们令人头晕目眩的世界。乡村、蓝调、摇滚，甚至是管弦乐等各种丰富的音色在The Dandy Warhols的搅拌下，形成一个巨大的漩涡，或许称之为黑洞更是贴切。”
