Configuring Ports and Connections
Perform. the following steps to configure this example.
1. After the SAN Routers are installed, log in to the Element Manager for the SAN Router with the 192.168.12.131 address. You can do this through SANvergence Manager or by entering the management port IP address into an internet browser.
2. Click on the arrow drop-down list and selectModifyat the login prompt.
3. Type the defaultModifypassword (private) in the field provided and clickOK.
4. SelectConfiguration > Ports > FC/Ethernetand selectPort 3to configure theRemote mSAN / iFCP port.
5. Select theiFCPport option and type the following:
• Port IP- 192.168.1.200
• Subnet Mask- 255.255.255.0
• Next hop gateway address-0.0.0.0
• Internal address- 192.168.111.105
6. ClickOKto save the changes and close the dialog box.
7. SelectConfiguration > iFCP > Local Gateway Setup.
8. Type131for the mSAN ID and clickOK.
9. SelectFile > Save Configurationand clickOK.
10. SelectFile > Reset Systemand clickOK.
11. Make sure the two number 3 ports are connected to each other.
12. Verify in the Element Manager that the iFCP port is up and showing a TCP icon on the port, with a green port outline once the switch comes up again.
13. Log in to the Element Manager for the SAN Router with the 192.168.12.130 address. You can do this through SANvergence Manager or by entering the management port IP address into an internet browser.
14. Click on the arrow drop-down list and selectModifyand type the defaultModifypassword in the field provided (private) at the login prompt and clickLogin.
15. SelectConfiguration > Ports > FC/Ethernetwhen Element Manager comes up.
16.SelectPort3to configure the Remote mSAN / iFCP port.
17. Select theiFCPoption and type the following sample information:
• Port IP- 192.168.1.202
• Subnet Mask- 255.255.255.0
• Next hop gateway address-0.0.0.0
• Internal address- 192.168.1.103

18. ClickOKto save the changes and close the dialog box.
19. SelectConfiguration > iFCP > Local Gateway Setupand type130for themSAN IDand clickOK.
20. SelectFile > Save Configurationand clickOK.
21. SelectFile > Reset the Systemand clickOK.
22. Verify in the Element Manager that the iFCP port is up and showing a TCP icon on the port, with a green port outline, once the switch comes up again.
Setting Up Remote and Exported Connections and Zones
Now set up the remote/exported connections and zones on both SAN Routers. For additional information on configuring remote connections, refer toConfiguring Remote Connectionson page 4-16. For additional details on zoning procedures, refer to theSANvergence Manager User Manual(620-000189).
1. Open the Element Manager for the SAN Router 192.168.100.99.
2. SelectConfiguration>iFCP>Remote Connections.
3. ClickAddto create a new remote connection, and selectPort 3from the drop-down list at the top of the screen.
4. Type the IP address for the other SAN Router iFCP port 3 (192.168.1.200) in theRemote Gateway IP Addressfield.
5. SelectConfiguration > iFCP > Remote Connectionson the 192.168.1.202 switch in Element Manager.
6. ClickAddto create a new remote connection, and selectPort 3from the drop-down list at the top of the screen.
7. Type the IP address for the oppositerouterPort3 iFCP port - 192.168.1.200 intheRemote Gateway IP Addressfield.
8. OpenSANvergence Managerwindow for both SAN Routers by selectingStart>Programs>McDATA>SANvergence Managerand then adding two SANs with IP addresses of 192.168.100.99 and 192.168.100.100. For more information about SANvergence Manager, refer to theSANvergence Manager User Manual.
9. Select themSAN Configurationwindow for the 192.168.100.100 switch and create aNew Zoneand name it Remote Zone (Make a note of the Zone ID for the zone).
10. Right-click on theHBA Port WWN, located off the attached port under the right column, and left-click onAddwith theRemote Zonehighlighted on the left.
11. Commit your changes and save to flash, when prompted.
12. Go to theSAN Configurationwindow for the 192.168.12.131 switch and create aNew Zoneand name it “Remote Zone”. Make sure the Zone ID is the same as the one noted for the other switch.
13. Right-click on each Fibre Channel disk Port WWN (from the JBOD) one at a time, located off the attached port under the right column.
14. ClickAddwith theRemote Zonehighlighted on the left.
15. Commit your changes and save to flash, when prompted.
16. Go toActions > Export Zoneswindow to export zones across iFCP.
17. Go to theSAN Configurationfor each switch and, after doing a refresh on the screen, confirm that you can see the Remote devices (HBA, disks) in the respective zones and they should have a blueRnext to them.
18. Go to the Windows host and bring up theDisk Managerutility. You should see the drives that you zoned as local devices there (you may have to do a Rescan in order to discover the new disks).
The remote connection is set up.
其他的一些配置命令:
Telnet到MP1620M上,默认的用户名/密码为:Administrator/password
Show config:显示MP1620M的所有配置,注意最后zone的配置,正确配置后,回显示zone中的所有设备,应该包含Local和Remote两部分。
Show port fcdevice:显示MP1620M上Port1和Port2上连接的FC设备。
